Intellectual Property Seminar Series: Filing Patents

A patent is an exclusive right to a product or a process that generally provides a new way of doing something, or offers a new technical solution to a problem. Unfortunately, filing a patent can be very expensive. Is there a way to get your invention protected for less money? Please join Mr. Grant Corboy, a patent attorney from the USPTO for a talk on how to obtain free legal assistance through a special program designed to help under-resourced inventors and small business.

Mr. Corboy will cover these topics:

- How to apply to the USPTO’s Patent Pro Bono Program for help in preparing, filing and prosecuting your patent application

- How to prepare a thorough provisional patent application

- How to file an application efficiently
